Unreasonable Restrictions on International Access to West Papua

Eni Faleomavaega and Donald Payne are really serious on Papua issue. Their letter to UN General Secretary then followed by a letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The new letter which was dated 5 March 2008, stressed on restriction on international access to Papua and West Papua Province. It is now clear that Eni Faleomavaega was really upset by the treatment during his visit on November 2007 to Papua. They even enclosed photos and DVD capture Indonesia military’s overact of force during Congressman Faleomavaega’s visit, then Eni conclude that the overacting military showed a pattern of Indonesian military’s misuse of force. Indonesia allows US congressman to visit Papua

A very good start of being open and honest to international community has been showed by Indonesian government. As an opening stage we can not expect that it will satisfy all parties regarding Papua’s issue, especially for all political and economical opportunist abroad.
