Britain’s Duke of York in Jakarta

Antara | Tue, 03/04/2008 4:17 PM | BusinessThe Duke of York, formerly known as Prince Andrew; fourth in line to the British throne, is currently in Indonesia on a four-day trade and investment promotion visit.

The prince, 47, who is United Kingdom’s special envoy for international trade and investment, arrived in Jakarta on Monday and is scheduled to stay until March 6.

According to British Embassy’s Head of Press and Public Affairs section Faye Belnis, the Duke of York met with Trade Minister Marie Pangestu and State Minister for Information and Communication Sofyan Djalil earlier today, after meeting Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo on Monday.

She added that the prince will be meeting President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday.

The duke is also scheduled to visit the British Petroleum (BP) company in Tangguh, Papua, and will also meet with cabinet ministers, government officials, British companies representatives and some members of the British community in the country. (amr)

Confrontation will only worsening conflict in Papua. We should start to think and act wisely in mature manner.
